Great News!!!!!
Around June 4th, I got a letter from the disability summit, saying that I was accepted there. I can't wait to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been asking a couple of my friends who've gone there, a few questions, since this is my first time going to the summit. TOday, my mom made me go out with her. We went to Jewel for some things, we got an emissions test for the van, went to Taco Bell for lunch, went to Target to get a few things for my nephew's birthday party this Sunday, and got some to-go food for the rest of my family for dinner. A few minutes after getting home from all this, I went to the library for a while. So it was a pretty eventful day today.

Games
Have a "beauty contest" for pajamas or slippers! Give prizes for "silliest," "most like the wearer," "furriest," "warmest," "most elegant," etc.
If you choose to have this contest, be sure to put a reminder on the invitation to bring PJs and slippers.
Good Gossip
"If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all!" Make all the girls feel good about themselves by having each girl say something nice to another girl.
Have the first girl in line whisper something sweet, kind and/or positive about the last girl in line to the second girl in line. Pass along the sweet gossip to each girl until it reaches the next to last girl in line. She will repeat the sweet gossip so everyone can hear.
Now -- how much is it the same, or how much has it changed from the original compliment?
At this point, the last girl moves to the other end of the line and becomes the first girl, and the game is repeated. Have them continue until all the girls have heard some sweet "good gossip" about themselves.
"You Go, Girlfriend"
Keep this one a secret until your party is almost over! Near the end of the party, ask each guest to write down on a piece of paper the name of a girl they thought showed the most kindness, was most helpful and gracious during the entire party. Tally the names and present the winner with a small prize.

Things You'll Need
Moon and Star Cookies:
Refrigerated sugar cookie dough
Star and moon cookie cutters
Rolling pin
White paper lollipop sticks
Cookie sheet lined with baking parchment
Spatula
Oven
Pot holders
Wire rack
Tub of white frosting
Yellow and blue sugar
Moon & Star Cookies
Note: Make sure you supervise the oven and hot cookie sheet when the girls bake the cookies.
Roll out cookie dough 1/4-1/3 inch thick. Cut star and moon shapes with cookie cutters.
Use spatula to move cookies onto cookie sheet. Stick a lollipop stick in side of each cookie. Bake cookies following directions on package.
Using pot holder or oven mitt, carefully remove hot cookies from oven. Use spatula to move cookies to wire rack to cool.
Frost cookies with white frosting. Decorate stars with blue sugar. Decorate moon with yellow sugar.
Things You'll Need
Cloud Ornaments:
White craft foam
Light blue parchment card stock
Computer with printer or black felt-tip pen
Glittery dimensional paint
Pencil
Scissors
Plain white paper
8 white paper lollipop sticks
Wire cutters
Craft glue
Cloud Ornaments
Write song titles or other phrases on blue parchment with felt-tip pen (or print them out on computer). Leave enough room between titles to cut out a cloud shape around each.
Cut out simple cloud shapes around titles. They should measure about 3 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches. Check the cloud pattern to make sure your paper clouds will fit on it with room to spare.
Trace cloud pattern onto white paper. Cut it out. Trace around pattern onto white craft foam eight times. Cut out with scissors. Erase any pencil marks.
Glue a blue cloud in center of each foam cloud. Decorate clouds with swirls of glitter paint. Let dry.
Trim eight lollipop sticks with wire cutters. They should measure 3 3/4 inches. Glue one to back of each cloud.
Things You'll Need
Wreath:
12-inch plastic foam wreath
Adhesive dots or craft glue
1/2-inch double-sided tape
Small blue and clear rhinestone stars
Fluffy craft stuffing
String of tiny clear Christmas lights
1 1/2-inch silver star spangles
1 1/2-inch blue gingham ribbon
Wire nippers
Tape measure
Wreath
Use tape measure to measure length around wreath. Cut a piece of ribbon that long, adding about 1/2 inch so ends will overlap.
Wrap double-sided tape around wreath. Cover sides of wreath with ribbon, pressing it onto tape. Cut tiny piece of tape to hold ribbon end in place.
Pull handfuls of stuffing and glue them over edge of wreath. Use only a little glue. Don't mash stuffing flat. You want to make fluffy clouds. Pull another fluffy lump of stuffing to rest in center of wreath.
Glue a star rhinestone in center of each star bangle. Glue bangles to stuffing. Glue a few clear star rhinestones to stuffing. Let dry.
Poke sticks of cookies and clouds through stuffing into foam wreath.
Add Starlight!
Before guests arrive, arrange Christmas lights on table so that they will fit in center of wreath. Set wreath over lights, leaving light plug free.
Plug lights into nearest outlet. They will "sparkle" through the clouds.
Safety Note: Use an extension cord if needed. Don't put cord where you will have to walk over it. Don't cover the cord with sleeping bags, pillows or blankets. Unplug the wreath before you go to sleep.

Things You'll Need
4 x 5-inch white invitation card with envelope with fold along 4-inch edge
Light blue parchment card stock
Yellow print decorative paper
Light blue craft paint
Round painting sponge or small piece of sponge
1 clear and 2 blue small rhinestone stars
1 1/2-inch silver star spangle
Glittery dimensional paint
Shiny white dimensional paint
Computer with printer or black felt-tip pen
Paper plate
Paper towels
Pencil
Scissors
Glue
Trim edges of card so that invitation is shaped like a cloud, about 5 x 3 1/8 inches. Fold should be on left edge.
Pour a little blue paint onto paper plate. Dab sponge into paint. Dab sponge onto folded paper towel until most of the paint comes off. Dab sponge lightly around edges on front of invitation. Set aside to dry.
Trace patterns for small star and moon onto white paper. Cut out. Trace around one star on back of blue parchment and one moon on back of yellow paper. Cut out.
Using computer or a black felt-tip pen, print "SURPRISE" and "BIRTHDAY SLEEPOVER PARTY" on blue parchment. Cut out each phrase.
Using computer or pen, print out party information (see photo). Cut out. Glue party information inside invitation. Glue moon, star and other phrases to front of invitation as shown.
Glue star spangle to paper star. Glue blue rhinestone star to moon for eye. Glue other blue star to spangle. Glue clear star to invitation near top.

Make an rainbow arch of balloons
Hang a curtain of silk flowers in rainbow colors hanging in the doorway for guests to walk thru. (look in the Luau section of your party store)
Have a pair of witches legs coming out from under the house. Make by stuffing tights with tissue paper and then painting black rings around the tights (to look like the witch’s legs), add an old pair of red sparkly slippers.
Use the colors of the rainbow in your decorating (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
Giant, colorful tissue paper flowers
Set up one area to look like a cornfield with haybales and add a scarecrow, You’ll also want a lion (a large stuffed animal or draw one on posterboard), and a tin man in your party area

Here are some great ideas for you to use when planning your 50's party or sock hop! Enjoy!
Invitations:
Cut out black card stock to look like a 45 record. Create a label and put your invitation details on the label. Don't want to do it yourself? Find something similar at our party store...
Cut out a poodle skirt shape from pink card stock, add a black poodle sticker. Write your invitation details on the back.
Decorations:
Use balloons and streamers in Black and Hot Pink. Need more colors? Add Purple and Turquoise.
Cut out card stock in the shape of 45 records, decorate with glitter and hang on the walls or from the ceiling.

Here are some great ideas for you to use when planning your 50's party or sock hop! Enjoy!
Invitations:
Cut out black card stock to look like a 45 record. Create a label and put your invitation details on the label. Don't want to do it yourself? Find something similar at our party store...
Cut out a poodle skirt shape from pink card stock, add a black poodle sticker. Write your invitation details on the back.
Decorations:
Use balloons and streamers in Black and Hot Pink. Need more colors? Add Purple and Turquoise.
Cut out card stock in the shape of 45 records, decorate with glitter and hang on the walls or from the ceiling.
Decorate with toy cars that look 1950’s vintage
Decorate with roller skates and soda fountain glasses

An Around the World teen party make a great teen party theme. It is something you can totally customize. Just pick a few countries to help you with your decorating, food choices and activities!
You can also make turn this into other teen party ideas by having an “Around the USA” party if you want to adapt this idea to the USA, you could do that as well – serve Memphis BBQ, Tex Mex, Philly Cheesesteaks, Chicago Pizza, etc.

Serve food with chopsticks and make sure you include fortune cookies
For an activity, give everyone a cup, a pile of little marshmallows, and a pair of chopsticks. Then let everyone race to see who can get the most little marshmallows into their cup using their chopsticks within a minute.

Decorate with paper flowers, jalepeno pepper lights, Mexican blankets, piñatas, sombreros
Have a pepper eating contest

Decorate with green, rainbows, shamrocks and pots of gold
Go on an M&M Hunt (rainbows…)
